The historical, yet eclectic downtown vibe

Waxhaw is where my children and I have called home for many years. I adore the historical, yet eclectic vibe downtown offers. Boutique shopping is plenty, and a favorite pastime is an afternoon on the patio at one of our local breweries or wine shop. Nothing better than enjoying great conversation with friends, neighbors, and our dog Ellie. Most places are pet friendly!

A draw to newcomers, our schools are academic, award winning and offer marching bands, unlimited sports, and clubs to participate.

If staying active is a way of life, you’ll enjoy the Twelve Mile Creek Greenway. The trails are perfect for the whole family and you’ll meet other friendly enthusiast along the way. The area favorite is Cane Creek Park, were fishing, canoes, kayaks, paddle boating, and camping is plenty. Neighbors frequent the large picnic area for a day of adventure and an evening of grilling and smores.

Being only minutes from Charlotte, gives us the convenience of city living, but in a suburb that reflects family values and neighborhood fun.

Traditional, southern family values are paramount in this quiet town. Other than a community country store, a beloved pizza place, and a furniture restoration store, you will not find much shopping in Mineral Springs, but Waxhaw is just a 5-10 minute drive for these local families.

Parkwood High School has been a part of the Mineral Springs community for over 64 years. While smaller than surrounding high schools, it has strong parent involvement, with teachers and staff entrenched in the community. It feels like an extension of your family. With so much growth in our area, Mineral Springs has held true and fast to it’s slower, family focused way of life.
